Mary Catherine George

Dr. Mary Catherine George is a Health Psychologist, clinical trial specialist with twenty plus years of experience in the conduct of human subject research. Dr. George is intrigued by the complexities of health and well-being and works to engage both physicians and patients in increased awareness of behavioral approaches to managing chronic illness, specifically chronic pain.  Dr. George works at the Icahn School of Medicine and prior to that worked in the Epicenter of the HIV Disease at St. Vincent’s Hospital, in New York.  Dr. George works to integrate novel approaches working with both patients and physicians. She is especially interested in studying the use of technological advances and how they can increase a patients function, well-being, and enjoyment of life.  Her research is focused on behavior, trust and patient-provider relationships and how language can influence these relationships.
